Experience

  1. Graduate Research Assistant

    Baylor College of Medicine

    Responsibilities include:

    • Analyzed whole-genome sequencing data from children with Down syndrome (DS) who developed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and compared them with DS controls to assess the impact of single nucleotide variants (SNVs) and structural variants (SVs) on ALL susceptibility and subtypes.
    • Conducted outcome analysis for DS-ALL, evaluating treatment response, infectious toxicity, and survival based on demographic, clinical, and genomic factors.
    • Applied Mendelian randomization to assess birth characteristics’ influence (e.g., birth weight) on ALL risk in DS children.
  2. Director of Agency

Consulting Club at Texas Medical Center (CCTMC)
  3. President

    BCM-Taiwanese Student Association (BCM-TSA)

    Responsibilities include:

    • Led initiatives to foster community engagement and cultural exchange among Taiwanese students and the broader BCM community.
    • Organized events and social activities to support Taiwanese student well-being and academic success.
    • Collaborated with the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston to advocate for the needs of international students.
  4. Specialized Laboratory Technician

Convergent Science Institute in Cancer, University of Southern California

    Responsibilities include:

    • Maintained the High Definition-Single Cell Assay (HD-SCA) platform, processing human blood samples to analyze circulating tumor cells (CTCs) across cancer types.
    • Performed single-cell whole-genome amplification and library preparation for copy number variation and targeted sequencing.
    • Developed automated quality control systems for the autostainer using Python and SQL.
  5. Graduate Student Researcher

Zilkha Neurogenetics Institute, University of Southern California

    Responsibilities include:

    • Investigated the blood-brain barrier’s role in Alzheimer’s disease by developing immunohistochemistry protocols and automated biomarker analysis.
    • Analyzed microvascular changes and performed immunofluorescence staining on brain samples from mouse models.
